Media Education

Media and Information Literacy (MIL) awareness is currently one of the most effective solutions worldwide to curb the rapid rise of disinformation while also strengthening the resilience of the information-consuming public.

Recognizing this similar need in the Central African Republic, Centrafrique Check has incorporated and prioritized MIL awareness within its mandate to bolster the overall resilience of the population, particularly internet users, against the risks and dangers of unchecked information or unverified claims that proliferate across networks. This initiative also aims to enhance vigilance against the traps of erroneous information that circulate widely.

Furthermore, it involves the information-consuming public in the fight against false information.

To address these challenges, Centrafrique Check has been implementing MIL awareness activities for over three years since the organization’s inception. These efforts target various groups, including students at the University of Bangui, young leaders from different districts of Bangui who are active on social media, students in public and private schools, and the general population.
