The Legal Advisor to the President of the National Assembly, the Chief of Staff to the President of the National Assembly, and the Deputy of Ouanda-Djallé have all collectively denied allegations claiming that Hassan Come, the current Legal Advisor, was involved with rebel groups and that he orchestrated the recent attack on the village of Ouanda-Djallé in Vakaga, located 1,082 km from Bangui, in the Central African Republic, by rebels of the Coalition of Patriots for Change (CPC) on June 17, 2022.

This claim was posted on June 29, 2022, by a Facebook account named Tongolo Ti BeAfrica, with six likes, two comments, and a few shares. The post stated: “According to reliable and credible sources: ‘the main instigators of the suffering of the population of Ouanda-Djallé…’”

In an interview with AFC, the Legal Advisor to the President of the National Assembly, Hassan Come, denied the accusations, stating that it is unfounded information intended to manipulate Central Africans. “No! I am neither directly nor indirectly associated with anything of this kind.” He continued, “These are purely false and hateful allegations against me and my hometown, Ouanda-Djallé.”

When questioned by AFC, Morokaza Christophe, the Chief of Staff to the President of the National Assembly, emphasized that “the Legal Advisor to the President of the National Assembly, Hassan Come, is indeed a native of Ouanda-Djallé and has no connection with any rebel groups.”

“Completely false, Hassan Come is neutral in this matter. So be cautious.”

Adam Idriss Sendé, the Deputy of Ouanda-Djallé, also denied the claim when contacted by AFC: “This is completely false; no evidence has shown that Hassan Come, a native of Ouanda-Djallé, would lead an attack against his own family, and he has never been involved in an armed group or in collusion with any rebellion.”

This allegation surfaced following a recent attack on Ouanda-Djallé in Vakaga, in the northeastern part of the Central African Republic, by rebels of the Coalition of Patriots for Change on June 17, 2022.
