Capacity Building for Bloggers and Activists on Combatting Misinformation on Social Media

Following the training of journalists in Bangui on identifying false information, it is now the turn of bloggers and activists to enhance their skills.

For this reason, Factchecking-AFC, with funding from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), organized a training workshop from July 6 to 7 at the Monseigneur CUCHERUSSET Center. This workshop was dedicated to 40 bloggers, activists, and influencers, including 20 women, focusing on misinformation related to security that affects social cohesion.

The goal of this session was to equip participants with techniques and approaches to combat and prevent the effects of misinformation using their audiences.

The various topics covered during these two days of training will help participants apply best practices in fact-checking over time, develop analyses and factual content for publication on their blogs and social media pages, and effectively combat misinformation in the Central African Republic.
