History

Centrafrique Check, formerly known as the Association of Fact-Checkers of Central Africa, is a media organization specializing in fact-checking, established following a series of training sessions organized in 2019 by Internews-RCA for 65 Central African journalists and bloggers on fact-checking. On April 10, 2020, four journalists and three bloggers were selected for a six-month practical internship in Fact-Checking. During this advanced training, the team found it necessary to form an association to independently combat misinformation and rumors in the Central African Republic. On July 28, 2023, this association changed its name and became a Non-Governmental Media Organization after three years and five months of experience in writing and publishing verified information.
